Triceratops, meaning "three-horned face," is one of the most recognizable dinosaurs that roamed the Earth during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 68-66 million years ago. This majestic herbivorous dinosaur possessed a massive, bony frill on its skull adorned with three impressive horns; two long ones above its eyes and a shorter one on its snout. What makes Triceratops truly intriguing is that these horns may not have been solely for defense against predators, but possibly served as a display during fights for dominance or to attract mates. With its robust body, which could grow up to 30 feet long and weigh over 11 tons, Triceratops was undoubtedly a remarkable creature of the prehistoric world.
